TIPS ON WHEN TO TAKE TO YOUR HEELS AS A MILLENNIAL REALTOR WITHOUT BEING CONSIDERED RUDE ESPECIALLY WHEN TAKING REAL ESTATE REQUESTS FROM CLIENTS

 

e real estate market is an interesting one. Most commodities we trade e.g groceries, clothes, cars, electronic devices, etc. could be moved around but unlike the real estate product. Real estate investment is unique because its a fixed asset with the potential of generating maximum Returns On Investment (ROI). One viable investment avenue I usually recommend any day or anytime is REAL ESTATE.


The demand for real estate is increasing every day therefore we receive leads by the second. The quest for affordable homes or viable real estate investment is on the rise. Any realtor who wants to remain relevant in the business must be able to screen his or her leads based on its prospect. Frankly, many are a fool's errand. And such clients can argue for a living even when it is obvious they know little about the modus operandi of the real estate business. 


To be more practical, how could a person who wishes to purchase real estate not make out time for inspections? We often hear things like, "please go there and snap the pictures and send them to me". Who would pay for the pictures? LOL. He or she wishes to buy or lease a property but would not commit time and money to it. Would the property be in the realtor's name? Brother, Sister, please fear God small. 


Some want C of O property in an Urban center such as Uyo (South-South Nigeria) for 1000 naira per square meter or request that after the purchase of the untitled property, the seller should use the proceeds of the transaction to process title documents for the buyer. Kindly have some conscience. Some buyers would not politely request a discount on the price of the property they intend to buy but prefer the agent discounts on his or her 10% commission. It is well. 


Finally, it is usually recommended that when making a legit property request, kindly state desired property with details of expected features, desired location or locations, desired budget or price range, etc. And go for inspections with your lawyer or spouse to aid prompt decision-making. Else, frankly speaking, it is just another fool's errand. While we patiently await INEC results on the next president of Nigeria.
